Living at Brenden Gardens
My husband and I have been here 2 years and we are happy and we have a nice apartment. The people here are very friendly and the food is good. At times our family members even join us for meals.
We have made a lot of new friends and I like to join in on the daily group exercises. We like the fact that there is security 24/7 and the doors are locked from the outside. We are very comfortable here at Brenden Gardens.

Living at Brenden Gardens

Brenden Gardens review
I feel very safe here, and I'm mostly paying for that, as I have personal reasons involving my safety. I love that this is a locked building with an overnight security person.
I would have rated almost everything higher but I think the quality of food is very below average. The cooks are not experienced and I'm told that the former chef served wonderful meals. He has passed away and the old-timers here say the food has really gone down! Everyone seems to think the food should be way better for a 'Five-Star' facility. There's a great deal of turnover and many of the servers and kitchen help is expected to do it all.
I also feel that our BG bus is too limited for medical visits, with only two days per week allowed. There are far too many residents to have to try to keep their appointments on either Tuesday or Thursday! The other days are Monday for shopping and banking, etc., Wednesday until noon for errands, etc., and on Friday usually an out of town trip is scheduled for a casino, etc.
I think the laundry facilities leave much to be desired. Even today, I had to make several trips to find a vacant washer, and I'll be up until way late tonight by the time I can have them dried.

I'm happy here at Brenden Gardens
I enjoy the activities and interaction with other residents. We do gardening, play cards, help each other, and have meals together.
There is a good variety of outside activities and Ageility which is the Therapy department is very good.
The management is receptive and the serving staff is very helpful.

Brenden Gardens is a good place to be. I've lived here for 1 1/2 years and it's exactly what I expected. Maintenance is good, they are quick to do what needs to be done. The housekeeping staff is excellent, and the cooks always try to satisfy.

Beautiful Place to live - Better than any I've seen!
I love my apartment at Brenden Gardens, and I think it is in the perfect place! I enjoy living here and I am very pleased with this senior community that I have found.
All of the staff is extremely friendly and easy to talk to. The food is fantastic, it's healthy with choices and always has an "anytime" menu. The chef is wonderful and cares about what he cooks. His soups are spectacular!!!
I would recommend Brenden Gardens to everyone because it is perfect and I can say that because I have visited many places.

A great fit for your loved one!
[Name removed] is amazing at explaining everything about the community, creating a welcoming and friendly environment and making it a smooth transition. Heart and Hands being on site as well is also a huge bonus for this community. If you need a little help, they are wonderful and the staff is very caring. Also having Ageility PT Solutions on site is another huge benefit at this community. They also have transportation available for doctor appointments, shopping and entertainment. They really have thought of it all and have created a wonderful independent living community. If you are looking for an independent living community that is friendly and caring and full of options, Brenden Gardens is your place. I would highly recommend.

Everyone is really great to work with. Super nice and helpful. The food is really limited and not great. But I would still recommend Brenden Gardens.
I think the 2 bedroom apartment is great for one person, but the one bedroom is really small. This makes it more expensive for just one person.

We didn't like the setup for walking her dog at Brenden Gardens. Too far to walk from the apt and the ground slopes without handrails to assist her getting back into the building.

Brenden Gardens
We recently reached the point in which I had to find an independent living facility for my mother. Brenden Gardens came highly recommended. I met with the staff, reviewed and toured the facility and ultimately chose it as the new home for Mom. The entire experience has been wonderful. The staff are professional, very nice and a pleasure to work with. The apartments and entire facility are extremely well maintained with an environment of a caring home. While everything is great, the dining facility even rates a little higher.

I love it here, this is Home!
My daughter was sad when my husband and I first moved in because she said she feel like she sent us here to die. I told her it is quite the opposite - she send us here to LIVE!! This home is so much easier, you don't have to cook, clean, or shovel snow.
I had a little family now I have a much bigger family and I know they really care. I am talking about both the residents and the staff. They all would do anything to make our life easier and more comfortable.

Retirement home for loved ones
Staff is very friendly and courteous. Activities are enjoyed by all people who live there and who come to visit family. Dining staff are very friendly and offer a variety of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. My husband and I have eaten there quite often.
The only thing I can say if your loved ones are of sound mind and can live on their own with no help, it’s a wonderful place to live. Just remember, there are no nurses on duty or CNA’s on staff.

Great living at Brenden Gardens!
I have been living here almost 5 years. My husband and I moved in together and we made a lot of friends. When he passed away in 2016, it helped having these friends around me. I always feel safe here. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and I feel I can always go to the managers, [names removed], if I have any problems. It's nice knowing that someone will clean my apartment every week. Having three meals a day provided for me makes my life a lot easier (and the food is good!). There are activities scheduled and trips are planned for those who want to participate. I would highly recommend living here! It is a warm and friendly place to live!

Brendon Gardens - a lot for your money, clearly a five star facility.
We have been here just a week but are much relieved that everything is just fine. The major motivation to our coming here was cost which is much less than any other place in or about Springfield and you are getting much more for your money than anyplace else. The staff here is very helpful and makes a concerted effort to make sure everyone is happy living here. The food overall is really good and the servings are generous and there is an abundance of daily activities in which all can participate.
I would without qualification recommend this place to anyone considering an independent living facility.
In short one would be well served by considering this facility before making any decision on independent living.
