Thank you. I am very pleased about the quality of service my loved one has received. I highly recommend the facility. The other facilities appeared to have dorm like or nursing room like settings or they were described as dark. I chose this facility because of its proximity to my home and because of the consistent responsiveness of the staff. Also, some facilities reduced my grandmother to her income, this facility addressed her as a person.

Highly recommend
I visited Redeemer for emergency placement for my grandmother, I.e., we were not planning to move her, the move as unexpected. The site is as close to perfect as one could hope. I feel like I could live there myself. I used the checklist provided by A Place for Mom to guide me. I also met with other facilities mostly via telephone. Redeemer exceeded my expectations. They were the most responsive & seemed most interested in my grandmother’s care & in her as a person. Some facilities made it clear their concern was her ability to afford the placement and that seemed to be all. Finances is discussed at Redeemer in a way that did not de-humanize. Things to consider: my grandmom is in Personal Care/Assisted Living. She had to adjust to being checked on regularly and people consistently asking her if she needs help. She wants to do things on her own and believes she can. She can’t. I have piece of mind and grandmom is learning to accept the help. Thank you!

Review for Holy Redeemer Lafayette
It really is a nice place. Lots of activities and social events. The apartments are nice and the location is great. The facility is very nice. The deciding factor is they offer free concierge transportation to anywhere in Lafayette. The nursing staff was very caring, the entire staff is very friendly and helpful. There was one staff member that was absolutely awful to the residents but she is no longer there thankfully.

Friendly and Caring Staff
What we like the most about Holy Redeemer Lafayette, is the staff. The staff are very friendly and genuinely care about the well being of their people. They also try to get great activities and are open to suggestions from people. We would recommend this community to other families based on our experience.

Don't wait
All I hear is complaints about the food - I have heard it is bland. they do not have proper meal staffing, they are impacted by the staffing shortages and not getting decent people to work. It is a great value for the money and it is totally worth it, especially compared to other places. I would tell others to look around and not wait until the last minute, it is a very stressful process.

Great experience
The lady we dealt with on our tour and from the very beginning has been just wonderful, she was very upfront with all the services they offered and has continued to keep up with great communication. The place itself is just fantastic and top of the list. Everyone we have encountered whether it be in person or over the phone but everyone was been amazing from the nurses station, to the front desk and maintenance team

Nice, clean, friendly
My experience is with the Personal Care floor. Everything appears clean. The residents seem cared for. The staff is friendly. Considering no one WANTS to be there, it's not a bad place to be. I gave four stars because there is always room for improvement. But I feel my mother is safe and well cared for at Lafayette.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Tour the location: Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Know the Pennsylvania regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about Pennsylvania regulations for Assisted Living.

A Place for Mom has scored The Lafayette 9.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
