They were always available if mom needed help or if I asked for anything. Everyone tried to engage mom, even when she wasn’t interested. Mom had some angry times, refusing care or meds, and the staff was very good about calling me to help convince her that it was needed and they were trying to help her not hurt her. Unfortunately, mom was unable to experience the activities offered, including going to the dining room. Meals were brought to her room, but weren’t always “complete”. The hospice team from Capital City Hospice was awesome, from the beginning of care to the end!\n\nMy mom passed away four weeks ago and I have yet to hear from anyone at The Avalon.
