Cares about the residents. They give the family the elevator code, so there’s unrestricted access. They have nothing to hide. Residents can go out to a large outdoor balcony any time. They don’t have to be “buzzed” out. Hospice/end of life is handled lovingly, medically, and with respect. The psych. Doctor who visits the facility is great. She responds immediately when there is a crisis. \n\n\nThis facility provides a high level of care in a warm, homey setting. My Mom was in another Memory facility that was set up more like a modern hotel; it was cold, sterile and the level of care was no way near as good. Sunrise was a little more expensive, but is providing exponentially more care. Brie, the director, is very empathetic and hands on, and advocated for us with the hospital. I was at my wit's end trying to care for my Mom, and now I feel like she's finally found a safe, caring place to live. We final have \"a new normal.\" I highly recommend Sunrise of Paramus. The move in process didn't go great, but we were told that it was because we moved in on a Sunday. Most of the staff are friendly, some better than others. I would recommend Sunrise of Paramus for the quality of nursing care, location and safety. But it is so expensive that I'm not sure if it will be a good option for us long term. The facility is smaller so there aren't endlessly long hallways, which are not good for residents with dementia. My mom's apartment is situated just off of the central hub where everything happens. Families are given the access code to the Memory Care elevator so you don't have to wait for someone to let you in and out. The residents have access to an Outdoor sunny patio whenever they want to use it, and again they don't have to be buzzed in an out. The Director was very hands on and was incredibly helpful when my mom was admitted to Valley Hospital and when she transitioned to hospice care at Sunrise. All of the staff have a light in their eyes and are determined to provide great care for the residents. [Name removed], the sales person, helped to get an expedited check in directly from Valley Hospital to Sunrise which was incredibly helpful. Another staff member was very helpful in getting my mom's room set up with regards to safety and thinking about future equipment that might have to go into the room. Housekeeping is good, and the communication with the family is excellent. I would definitely recommend Sunrise of Paramus to others. Before, I was thinking that my mom was just going to bounce around to different places, but now I feel like she's found a home. This facility is a little bit more expensive, but my mom receives exponentially more and better care than she did at the previous facility that she was in.
