It's clean, and the staff does a great job of caring for my sister. When we Zoom, I can see that her clothing is clean, she's brushing her teeth and her hair is clean. She doesn't remember what happens during the day, but she most often has a different shade of fingernail polish each time we talk, and that clearly pleases her. The staff helped her to feed and care for her dog until the little guy died at 18 years. The time my sister had with her pet was very important to her, and there's been a substantial slippage since he died. I know that caring for a dog was often inconvenient for the staff, but they did it without complaint to me because it was so clearly important to my sister.\n\nWhen I have an issue, I can call and leave a message and most often get a return call. If I don't get a return call, it's always possible to phone [name removed], the president, and he is very good about calling back and solving problems. I think running an assisted living home is a very difficult thing to do. The fact that they are willing to call me back and engage in listening to my concerns is such a relief! The engagement coordinator schedules activities and events, including exercise and music classes, special events and celebrations, and excursions in one of the 15 accessible passenger vans. The home has a covered deck, giving you a perfect place to enjoy the fresh air while keeping out of the sun. The dedicated staff of caregivers can help you with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. They also offer assistance with mobility, colostomy and catheter care, incontinence care, dental care, pain management, podiatry care, and medication administration. Prescription medicines can be delivered. Respite care and hospice care are also available if needed.</p> <h3>Living Arrangements</h3> <p>You can choose between private and semi-private rooms at Serenity House Assisted Living at Hoyt Street. Rooms are fully furnished, but you’re welcome to bring your own furniture if you prefer. Bathrooms offer safety features like grab bars and walk-in showers.</p> <h3>State Classification</h3> <p>Serenity House Assisted Living at Hoyt Street is an <em>assisted living residence</em>, which in the state of Colorado is a residential facility which provides personal services, protective oversight, social care due to impaired capacity to live independently, and 24 hour supervision (but not to the extent that regular 24-hour medical nursing care is required).
