Lack of follow through, oversize, and general care for the resident.
Did not follow through with things that were promised 3 years ago with regard to providing an ambassador to help mom make the transition from her home. Recently she was moved to assisted living and her care plan was not being followed with regard to showers, laundry, and timely medication dispensing. After two months in assisted she was very quickly moved to memory care and I am not sure that move needed to be made. The family had no say in that move and now she is fearful as she is in a setting with folks who are catatonic while she is still very vibrant, even though she has some aphasia. There is a lack of cleaning the facility, no stimulating activities, and many staff who just don't seem to care. We are exploring other options.

Yes I would recommend it. My mom had a hard time adjusting as the people were cliquey but she now has one good friend there, plays Bingo, cards and paints. She doesn't love the food but it's good enough.

Not specialized for Dementia care- Misleading
I would not recommend this community to anyone. They don't offer special programming for people with dementia. It seems to be misleading. In addition, they had so much turnover in staff, in which no one could provide the care that my loved one needed.

Our loved one was not there for very long, and we did have some issues when it came down to the level of care and what was promised - some of the things we needed were not followed through with. However there were plenty of activities that were offered which we really liked.

Disappointed
Do not move your loved ones in here. I do not recommend this facility. They do not have the staffing for the type of care needed. They should not bring any new residents in until they get more staff. The medical side of things is very poor. Medication management, nursing, covid testing, etc. is very inadequate. They say they have a doctor on site but he was rarely there. Every time I went to visit it was very difficult to find any staff around. It was a horrible experience and we were very disappointed.

While we do work with many visiting physicians, which are selected at the residents choice, we do not in fact employ our own doctors. We do employ many wonderful and highly qualified wellness team members including a Wellness Director, 2 Wellness Managers and multiple Certified Medication Technicians and Care Associates. Our average resident to staff ratio far exceeds the State requirements and is above the industry average. Again, I apologize that we did not meet your expectations and would welcome the opportunity to hear from you so we can continue to improve and do better. Thank you.

Great experience
Park Place has been the perfect fit for my loved one. We initially were looking at them because it was close to home and the price seemed lower than other comparable places. When we got here for our tour, everyone was so nice and helpful and the staff really sold us at that point. The rooms are private and a little small but pretty equal to others we looked at. The staff have really gotten to know her on a personal level and what her needs are. Everyone is super friendly and caring and they always reach out if there are any updates to give us. It has been a great experience and I would definitely recommend Park Place to others looking.

The staff we interacted with during our tour at Park Place were very friendly and accommodating to what we were looking for. This was our second choice, but the facility was just too vast. Since my loved one has early stages of dementia, we were looking for a smaller layout. We were scared that she would get lost here with there being so many different wings.

My loved one has been here for almost 3 months. They do not check on them every 2-3 hrs. They do not clean routinely. They do not do the daily tidy up. I feel like I was completely lied to when we were looking at the place.

Park Place oversells itself and they don't always do what they say will do. I believe the activities are limited and they are short on staff on the weekends and evenings. They aren't checking on my loved one every 2.5 hours as they said they would to assist with cleaning.
Overall I think I found a good place for my loved one. They are very friendly here.

My mother seems to enjoy it, and there are people her age. There is a swimming pool and exercise room for some activities.
COVID has made it difficult with limited visitors. There was a leadership change due to a new company buying the location. My loved one enjoys the kai fish and balcony.

A Place for Mom uses the term “assisted living” to indicate that the community provides some level of assistance with daily living activities. It does not indicate that the facility meets official state requirements for level of care.
