I can say, with confidence, that this facility is a 5 in all categories. We looked at numerous communities and found this one to be the best fit for our loved one. It has changed ownership recently (now CareOne). The only concern I've had is lack of communication/follow through which may be in part due to the change in ownership.

Outrageous Pricing
When my loved one first moved in, the community was Symphony at Cherry Hill. However, recently they have been taken over by Care One, and in the last six months, there have been two increases that totaled [rate removed]. My loved one with moderate dementia needs only moderate care. When I called and asked them about the increases, they said they're hiring more people, upgrading the facility, and generally increasing their services and quality. But the increase in price is astounding. With the change in ownership, so far the care seems to be about the same. I just don't see how they can justify such an enormous increase. They told me there would be no more increases in the next three years, which I asked for in writing. And so far they have not responded back, which indicates to me an empty promise.

It's ok
The community looks beautiful and is kept clean, but alot of unfulfilled promises. We were told our mother would be checked on throughout the night and that clearly was not happening. I just feel that because the residents can't speak for themselves, you have to be on top of things to make sure they are happening. It's alot of money to check that they're doing their job.

Symphony is a comfortable caring community
We are at peace that we made a good decision that we placed my loved one in a good place. We could have not done better we found a really good community for her to reside in. They have activities at this community like interactive games with the residents, music activities, they bring in pets for the residents to visit with and more for the residents to do to stay busy in the community. They also make sure that they always celebrate all special occasions and holidays with the residents like cinco dey mayo, the opening day of baseball and more. they make sure they recognize everything. Every Sat they also have a ice cream social.

Ask a lot of Questions, Demand Answers if your families there!
My loved one was there for 2 years. They only did blood work 1 time that I could find. We removed her and placed her somewhere else and this new place did her blood work and we learned her blood oxygen was very low. Symphony at Cherry Hill kept saying everything was fine with her, when it was clearly not. She was seeing the doctor twice a month this whole time and never knew or figured it out while there.

We moved my loved one here from another place where she kept falling and wasn't receiving the care that she was being charged for. So Symphony at Cherry Hill has been a vast improvement. The staff is very friendly. And the facility itself is very good as well.

Highly recommend, great facility
We chose Symphony because of the convenient location, the size of the rooms, and the cleanliness of the facility. The value for the money was also reasonable compared to others we had looked into. It was overall a good experience, there were a few communication hiccups between the staff members. They were very reactive, if there was an issue they resolved it immediately and notified us when needed. I would absolutely recommend to others looking.

Overall a good community
So far our loved one has had no complaints about the meals and dining so we assume they are pretty good. They do have some activities going on for those who want to participate, our loved one did go on a bus ride the other day. We know our loved one is well looked after there.

Exceeding expectations
We not only like the personality of the care staff, but as well as the executive team. The directors, sales, marketing and business manager have all been nothing short of outstanding as far as communication. They answer any questions we may have and respond in a timely manner. Also the receptionist who handles all of the scheduling is great. Everyone there knows all of the residents names and their personalities and interests.

Right now acceptable
We are having a little bit of trouble with the billing department which has been frustrating. We first toured virtually, and it is a newer facility so what we were able to see it was clean and seemed modern. Over the phone when we have spoke with the staff members they have all been very pleasant and cooperative, it has been a good experience so far. Our love done due to her health is not able to give feedback over the food but we believe it to be pretty good. They do offer our loved one physical therapy, and she has now built up enough strength to not also need the wheelchair.

Buyer Beware
My loved one was only in the community and we were only able to visit three times prior to COVID.
The community did their best to allow virtual visits at different times. This was difficult due to the medical condition and us not being able to see him in person.
My loved one fell multiple times. I believe a couple of his falls could have been avoided, had the staff being more attentive. The residents let the staff know both times of the big falls when my loved one fell. The staff did let me know of any of the falls, but the nurses wouldn't call me until after several hours to give me an update on his condition.
If you are able to visit and check in on your loved one, it would be a great community. This might have been happening before COVID.
The community didn't let us know that my father hadn't been eating or drinking anything for over a week. I had to call another company to have them evaluate my loved one to hear about him not eating or drinking. I then received a call from this other company, stating to get up her quickly so you can see your loved one before he leaves.
A hospital bed was ordered for my loved one and a nurse ended up refusing the hospital bed. The nurse stated this is because she didn't see the orders.
Th executive vice president and I spoke. He and I spoke and made an arrangement that two family members at a time with masks on be able to see my loved one. The nurse on shift stated that she didn't see my loved one as dying and you shouldn't be here. The nurse came over to me and threatened to revoke this special arrangement, due to my family members not wearing a mask to kiss my loved one.
There was no resident or staff that came down with COVID during the time my loved on was there.

[Name removed] was an excellent host; we appreciated the information she shared and the time she spent with us. Symphony is a brand new facility (currently 9 mo old). The building is very attractive, resident rooms are spacious, the ratio of caregivers to residents it good, the list of activities is varied, the food ir given high marks, and the other amenities seem very good. My brother has a friend whose wheelchair bound father is very happy here.
