Happy place to live
[name removed] and [name removed] are great employees. They arr very helpful. My dad’s room is nice. There are a lot of activities there. They have really improved on the place. We seem to find parking space even though there’s not a lot of parking. The luau was fun. The residents there are friendly.

Happy place to live

Beautiful Community and Peace of Mind
This was a very nice community. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The staff communication with the family, they are responsive with our questions and requests.
There are three meals served a day and the residents have choices to choose from.
There is housekeeping included. There is a kitchenette in the apartment. There are villas available that have full kitchens in them.

I would recommend
Everybody here is awesome, when I first moved in the people here did not let me be alone - they would come sit with me in the dining hall and within the first two weeks I already knew the names of a handful of residents. The staff have been so welcoming and are just totally awesome. They always know what you want, what kind of foods you like and aere just overall wonderful people. I never expected anything like this when I moved in. The house keeping is great, they help change my sheets. Even though we do not have a pool we have some darn good nice people

Tour experience
The tour was just ok, the facility itself needed some updates and it did not look near as clean as a few others that we saw. We got to try the food on our tour and it was mediocre.

The gentleman we spoke with at Holiday Columbus Estates was very friendly and helpful. But I didn't like that the facility was right off of a very busy street. Also I thought the inside needed a little bit of a facelift / updating.

Columbus Estates review
I love Columbus Estates, I was in heaven there. Everybody there was very nice, I always got a hi, hello, good morning. It was a very satisfying experience and the staff were excellent. [name removed] who I believed was the director or in management somewhere was always on top of everything and very hands on. The care was excellent there and I just loved it, I was so sad to leave due to my health.

We haven't had any problems so far with Columbus Estates, it is a very clean community. The staff have been very accommodating and conscious when it comes to the medical side of things and they were also very informative and again accommodating when we were looking at different units they had available.

Be Prepared to Make Adjustments in Your Life
The community isn't able to accommodate special dietary restrictions. Lunch is served at 12 and at 12:15 and my loved one was told to take the food and leave the dining room.
The grounds and the building are well kept.

From what I've seen, I'd say it rates among the best in Bakersfield.
The setup is very nice. The landscaping is beautiful. It's quiet, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is fair, always on time and no problems. I just wish they would use less onions. They have a cleaning schedule, and they're generally on time. It's light housekeeping, and I would say my expectations are different than theirs. But overall they do a decent job, if not as good as I would do myself. But I would recommend this community to others.

A great fit
It has been a very good experience with Columbus Estates. We chose this facility because of the location and I had been here before and was very impressed with everything. When they are able to open up the dining room, it is LOVELY. They also offer a lot of activities and she is really enjoying it. I like that they have a nursing staff available if she needs medication so I do not have to worry about it. I would and have recommended them.

Overall a good community, but food quality could use some improvements
Due to COVID they do not have any dining services, and the food is being delivered to the residents rooms which is substandard. When they do have the activities for the residents, they are very nice.

What a great place to live!!!
The staff was always very attentive to my mom's well being. That always went the extra mile to include mom in activities. She really enjoyed living there. For health reasons it was just time to move on.

A Great Decision
I have been living at Columbus Estates for 7 years.
I had lived previously just 5 blocks from here, but had never visited. I came over with my daughter one day to check it out because it was getting difficult to maintain my home. I was so impressed with everything, especially my apartment, the fact that I could have my dog, the friendly staff and residents the meals and activities offered that I signed up that very day. It is one of the best decisions I have ever made.

The staff at Columbus Estates is excellent! They are caring, knowledgeable and friendly.
My only problem is with the quality and temperature of our food since we have been in quarantine.
Overall the facility is a great choice for families who want their loved ones to be independent yet safe and cared for.

What a great feeling Columbus Estates has
I have seen multiple communities and when I walked into Columbus Estates it felt like home I wanted to sit down and get comfortable. It wasn't hotel like as the other communities we looked at. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming.

My In-Laws live in a different state and pay roughly 2.5 times for their independent living facility. Their facility may have more amenities however the care and compassion provided is not as good as Columbus Estates.
