A great place for loved ones
Honestly, the only thing that I am slightly disappointed about is the quality of food. Having been in these facilities with my mom as well as working at [name removed] in Newburyport I know that this food can be done well. It falls short at Benchmark. I don't know if it is a staffing issue is the problem. I know like everywhere they suffer from being short staffed from time to time. I think the team as a whole is incredible. I am very happy with Benchmark. And highly recommend the facility and all it had to offer!

A place for our sister.
We are very pleased that our sister is living comfortably and safely there. We picked this community, because It had a locked memory, and assisted living. [name removed] worked with us to get our sister in there quickly, which we needed. We hoped we could have found a less expensive place but do not think we would have been as happy with an other facility.

It was a good place for my mom
This facility is a good place, I really liked it. Mom was happy here and she loved it. They were good to her. There were a few times where I had to advocate for her to get things done. And I feel like her Physical Therapy could have been better. But it all worked out. They had some really good Aides here who worked with mom to help her be mobile often, she loved to walk. They also had a lot of good activities and always had something going on each day. Mom loved the exercise class. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

The Transition Home
In this past year we faced the reality that it was time to find a new place to call home for our mom. In our search, Benchmark HC stood out in the way they supported our family, with professional care and with empathy and respect too. [name removed]went above and beyond for us even once we moved in! The whole staff continued to follow through with the same standards, going above and beyond for my mom, and for my family through the process of adjusting. The activities are amazing, the director [name removed]and her team are in a league of their own. The nursing staff is also incredible. The whole HC staff has a way of creating a "family feeling" amongst the residents. My siblings and I are grateful to Benchmark HC staff and residents for making my mom, my whole family and me, feel we are home.

Better fit for our needs
This facility has done a good job for us. We've had some challenges, but working through those. They seem to struggle with their staffing needs and ability to handle some situations. Communication with the family is ok. They do housekeeping and no issues there. The food is good, good quality and variety. I would probably recommend them to family and friends.

Great option for memory care patients.
It is really a great place overall. The only thing is - the family member always has to remain an advocate for their loved one, and that would be the case anywhere you might choose. But the atmosphere is bright and homey. It's in a nice location. There are nice areas to walk around outside, and they have a couple of patios. The activities are varied and hold the interest of the residents. I think there could be different activities introduced based on the residents' desires - I wish they would ask about that. But they really do care about the residents. The staff are great. They could improve on the actual execution of care. But any concerns we've raised to management have been taken seriously, and they take the appropriate action.

A Very Pleasant Place
My brother was very picky and unhappy there because he just wanted to go back home. He complained a lot about the food. I felt the staff bent over backwards to get us in there, but once we were there, there was often a lack of communication and not as much warmth as there was at the beginning. My brother didn't care to socialize, but I found the people there very pleasant. They set up his meds with PillPack, so he was getting the medications he needed, and he was also getting the help he needed with showering.

Overall I love the place and would highly recommend the facility to others. When we were looking, I visited a lot of other places as well. Benchmark has a very homey atmosphere and does not feel institutional at all.

Our of this world
My mother resides at Benchmark and I can honestly say that it has been the best decision of my life! The staff is so amazing! I wanted a place that is just like home, well I found it. The whole place knows your name and they know how to make your loved one feel accepted. With ALZ it is not easy on both my mom and us but BSL is there if I have any questions or concerns. I also LOVE all the activities. My mom calls me and raves about the bus tour they just went on to the beach or a tour around town. She loves that she can get out and see the world.
I made the decision to go to BSL and I am so happy I made the choice. They all are an amazing group of people!

Wonderful Wonderful
My name is Jim Lynch Jr.
I moved my dad into Haverhill Crossing in early July 2021. I had no idea where to look for assisted living so I asked friends and searched the internet and the name Haverhill Crossing kept coming up as the place that people spoke so highly about. I wanted my dad to be in a good place. He is a very active 90 year old who was a runner up until last year. My first interview with Haverhill Crossing my dad and I were super impressed. The transition was very easy and my dad is very happy. He loves his apartment and said the food is delicious. My dad had hundreds of tee shirts from races he won that we didn't know what to do with and the activities director said let us make him a quilt the women here would love to make it for him. They did and my father was very happy. It was very special for his running friends and our family. My dad is very happy now and that's what's important to me. I want to say Thank You to all the staff at Haverhill Crossings for my dad's care.

It was a great experience all the way around. We looked at a lot of places and we were so pleased with Benchmark Senior Living. It is an assisted living model that can take you to the end of life instead of having to move to a hospital like setting which is why it was so special to us. I would recommend to others looking.

Memory care is substandard
When we were given the tour and had a family meeting, I made the mistake of believing what they said. My LO was a wanderer. I knew he would not be able to distinguish his room from others' rooms. "No problem, they said. Our staff can handle that." Within 2 weeks, they started calling me to complain that he was going into other residents' rooms. Then they started to insist that I hire someone to be with him 24/7. Any communications that I had with the director of Memory care and the director of nursing felt like being attacked by bullies. I finally moved my LO to another MC facility where the care is so much better and I have peace.
