I picked Arbor House Reminisce because it was small (48 residents - 12 men & 24 women when full. Small is good and bad. The good…my husband does not get lost , bad …..not many places to walk, good is they have two garden areas with chairs. Limited space. As small as it is , you get to know all of the caretakers in all of the areas because they switch areas a lot. The caretakers are nice and most of them seem to really care about their patients. There seems to be a lot of employee turn-over, but most businesses are lately. The caretakers that have been there a while are the ones that care a lot. It is a very hard job caring for people in their last stages of life. All in all it is a very nice place. Is very clean and very rarely smells bad. Rooms are small and bathrooms are shared between two rooms, which my husband does not like. They are tender and kind. [name removed] as the activities director is the perfect person for this job- she is positive, engaging and fun! She has even personally made sure that my mother was coaxed to participate. [name removed], an award winning pianist monthly comes in to play for the residents. [name removed] is the excellent and caring hairdresser. The facilities are modern and cheerful. She had good meals, activities and friends were made. The CNA'S and CMA'S were Mom's favorite thing about Arbor. They love my mom so much and she was so in love with them. Everyone is family to the care givers and it shows. I never had to leave Mom not knowing she was in the best care of people who truly loved her and would take care of her. I have wonderful memories of my mom's life at Arbor. Because of her care, she loved and enjoyed the people and her life was full of fun and laughter.
