Improvement needed
This was not a good fit for my loved one. They are only interested in easy patients that do not require a lot of work and those who do not cause problems. Every week when I tried to get my loved one to take a shower I had to spend 15 min trying to track down a caregiver just to get a towel. I barely saw any activity except them sitting and watching tv. Also, there is only 2 guest bathrooms in the facility. One on the 1st floor and 1 on the second. The bathroom on the second floor was out of order for several weeks. Had to go downstairs to use the facility bathroom.

Needs improvement
My loved one didn't get the care they needed. I was told they could handle them, but after a while they were constantly complaining about the trouble my loved one was causing them. If your loved one is low maintenance, then this place is great, but if they are high maintenance then this place is not for them.

Kind and compassionate staff
My father came to Pacifica over two months ago, with medical issues and dementia. We were welcomed warmly and have consistently received kind and compassionate support and help from all of the staff since day 1. With every request, they have been cooperative and helpful, and have tried to help in any way possible: from basic needs, requests to set up his tv, transport to the doctors appointments, etc the staff have been amazing. It’s rare to find such committed and kind folks who aren’t burnt out: these folks are top-notch.

Not enough staffing
The main issue I have is the staffing levels. Honestly I think the staff is very caring & loving but there is just not enough of them to help all the residents. This has been since my loved one has moved in. The management is aware and admits to me the problem, but still has done very little to correct the situation. I understand it can be hard to find help but this problem has gone on for so long I am starting to think they are gaslighting me.

All 5s! I couldn't have selected a better place for my mom. She is a completely different person after moving there. She is so happy and loves everything about it! The entire staff are incredible! Yes, I would recommend this community to other families.! It's really a wonderful and caring place. The keep all residents active with a daily itinerary of fun things to do that stimulate them. I am extremely happy with the care Pacifica gives to my mom. I wouldn't change anything. The staff is incredible. All residents seem very well taken care of.

Staff adjustment period
I love how the facility is laid out. The decorations are lovely and themed well. My dad started to resist being here but with time he has adjusted well. The staff have been patient and understanding! I like the guidance I received on how to deal with leaving him alone.

Highly recommend
All 5s! I couldn't have selected a better place for my mom. She is a completely different person after moving there. She is so happy and loves everything about it! The entire staff are incredible! We would recommend Pacifica Senior Living to other families! It's really a wonderful and caring place. The keep all residents active with a daily itinerary of fun things to do that stimulate them. Before, in her old place, my mom was very depressed and almost catatonic. Even with her dementia, I haven't seen her this happy and active in years.

we wish we found this place sooner
It was the cleanest place we visited. It didn't smell and felt like home. It was also the most cost effective. Based on the experience we have had so far with Pacific Senior Living, we would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

Overall, they are very accommodating, have a very good reputation, and our Mom seems happy there. Only issue I have is sometimes they are lacking in responding to some of my requests/follow-ups and I have to reach out to them sometimes a few times to get the info I need. It could be that they are understaffed but not sure.

It all comes down to the trust and the professionalism - and they are the experts of that field
When I first moved my sister into this location, the welcome and complete aura of this place were awesome!
They had a big sign that said welcome [name removed], they had staff who met her and took her up to her room. They were so warm and it was a great experience. She's adjusting well; their med techs are in contact with me all the time and they keep me posted on everything. I feel like I'm totally welcome there anytime. We've had friends and visitors who come to see her.
I looked at five different communities before we chose Pacifica. The care community itself received us so well, it's overwhelmingly heartfelt. I know my sister is in great hands and the burden of worry & being concerned about her safety doesn't exist anymore. I'm quite comfortable with them, this is the most caring facility, they're all about care and taking care of someone you love very much. I've also had good feedback from the people who have visited her, they tell me the same exact thing. She has Alzheimer's, gets confused, and has a short memory - but they make her feel like she's apart of a big family. She gets so excited about the things they do, like activities. If I were to recommend anyone, I would recommend Pacifica Senior Living Mission Villa.
I can't tell you enough about them, they're fantastic and I could never say enough good things about them. If there are awards to be given, these people deserve it.
In regards to A Place for Mom - when I first got into this process, one of the Northern Californian Senior Living Advisors, [name removed], was so amazing. He gave me a list of options and I did a lot of shopping, but this so far is the best. They offered me a reasonable price and we did a life lock. My experience with others was not so good, I was quoted anywhere from [price removed] / per month. I told Pacifica what my budget was and they worked with that - it actually turned out to be less. The costs wont change either, they sent that to me in writing through a letter.
They've handled emergency medical situations, they take charge. They contact me, even if its in the middle of the night. I've become so close to them, if anything happens or isn't working out, they contact me. I've talked to executive directors to med techs and I realize there's a lot of patients and residents, but they all treat me like an individual. They know me by voice and it just doesn't get any better than that. I'm totally awed by this community, it's fantastic!!!
My Senior Living Advisor, [name removed], gave me websites to read up on things - which was so informational. I received an entire list of many places, and that really helped me. Often times we drive around and see or visit different communities, but it was great to have a guide. He stayed with me throughout the process no matter what, and remained patient while I toured different options. He helped me find and do many things, he made this very easy.

our experience with Pacifica Senior Living Mission Villa has been very good. what I asked for, they do for me - but I do have to ask for additional things sometimes.
if its supposed to be a multicultural community, they should have people who can do all types of hair and match color. they currently don't know how to wash and curl my moms hair, and haven't really made any attempt to get someone in who can. they also had to put up a picture of my moms clothes next to her closet in order to dress her appropriately/match color, which I thought was odd. I visit every few days, and most times when I walk in she has her head down on the table (sleeping) alongside other residents. the staff aren't engaging them and there are rarely any activities. they had an Easter Brunch recently and other things like that occasionally. however, my loved one is in a wheelchair and needs a lot more care than some of the others and may not have the mobility to get up and walk around; but I just want to make sure she is looked after and cared for.
