The overall experience, the friendliness of the staff, the quality of care and the meals and dining service all get a 5+. I feel so confident in the care that Merna is getting that I don't worry when I have to go a few days without visiting. We would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.
About the facility Avalon Memory Care - Timber Forest
At AVALON, we set ourselves apart from other residences with the level of care and compassion we show to our residents. Our care is unique in that we treat our residents as people with individual needs rather than grouping them as 'those with dementia.' After all, a lack of cognitive ability doesn't equate to a lack of individual personality. It is important to remember that we are guests in their home.

We loved the friendly caring staff and they were so good at communication
They were a really good facility. Small and caring. The staff were all very caring. Even watching them with other patients I was impressed The food looked good but my father was stubborn and wouldn't eat. I would recommend them.

Responsive and Compassionate Care
Avalon provided a compassionate environment for a difficult time in our loved one’s dementia progression. In addition to the care they gave him they were also always available for family questions and concerns . This is a warm and homelike environment where everyone from the director to maintenance personnel were engaged with those in their care. They provided a needed peace of mind from initial entry to hospice care always providing support along the way.

A place like no other. When you are looking for the very best place.
Avalon Memory Care- Timber Forest is an extraordinarily excellent facility with very high staff to patient ratio. It is the most home like. The staff is extraordinary and one of the big assets for the facility. They did an outstanding job. They also assisted with Physical therapy and coaching and encouragement at all times. Although their main function seems to be memory care, they also did an excellent job with Rehab.

a nice clean establishment - night time care needs more attention
The meals and dining service is consistent, and the day to day staff is great but the night time staff is where they fall short in regards to overall quality of care. We feel they are not as attentive as they should be - when our loved one falls we do not receive a phone call so they could improve on their consistency with the care services.

The tours were fine but it came down to what my loved one would be comfortable in. She is a very private person and it just takes a certain type of environment for her. She did not want interference with her privacy.

Would Not Recommend, Poor Medical Care Offered
I would tell others that my loved one lost lots of weight. The community never reached out to let us know. I'm not impressed with their care at all.
The food was not enjoyed by my loved one.
Due to medical calls, we asked the community to give my loved a life alert alert and poor communication didn't help.

The Best!
My stepmother has been in Avalon for a brief time now.
The staff have been so caring, kind, interested in her and efficient! They are great at dealing with her aggression.
They have been able to bathe her. The previous facility where she was had only been able to do that once or twice the last year! Avalon took care of her toenail problems and trimmed her nails the first week there!
She is happier than I have seen her in years. They have been able to get her to eat better.
We are absolutely thrilled with the facility and the staff at Avalon! They are efficient yet warm hearted and genuinely care. I see this with all the residents there, not just [name removed].
