They are very friendly, have a lot to do and accommodating to the family. They try very hard to incorporate the new residents. My parents have been there a month and a half, The staff are very sweet and most of them already know my name. They keep in communication with me and the food is very good which is a big deal for my parents.

Alma Via of SF is quite large, with three floors, two wings on the 2nd & 3rd floors dedicated to Memory Care. The staff here are caring, professional, and most of all, make the resident & family feel like family. My mother is in the Memory Care Unit for dementia. Here, they have excellent activities throughout the day, engaging the residents in fun activities they enjoy. The Gardens are quite nice, roomy, and very clean. The other residents appear to be very happy and well cared for. The Assisted Living areas are like being in a large hotel. The main dining room is quite nice - our family has had several meals there - good food & lots to chose from! I highly recommend Alma Via of San Francisco for your loved one.

It's a wonderful place, they were outstanding! I highly recommend them. Their food was pretty good. They are not set up to deal with residents that may have violent tendencies. I liked that it was small with a very family atmosphere, their staff was very compassionate. This is for the memory care, not the assisted living.

AlmaVia gives an instant feeling of home and welcoming from all staff members were very professional as well. Apartment units are very spacious, grounds well kept, many sitting areas both inside and outside, all corridors are clear for passage, public bathrooms kept clean, dinning hall bright and cheery, many activities and social areas, religious room for all faiths are represented (very favorable), it's just felt like home.

It was beautiful but expensive. It seemed they went out of their way to craft things for each person individually. They had a lot of religious things, and brought school kids in for different things, we saw a Jr high student interviewing a resident when we were here.

My mother has spent time in several assisted living facilities and this has been her best experience by far. They communicate consistently with her and I and its easy to reach anyone you need to talk to. The facility itself is quite new and my mom's apartment is clean and well-maintained. They've gotten my mom to be enthusiastic about quite a few of the activities, which was a pleasant surprise for me.

I chose this community because it was recommended that my mother needed memory care. The care was very giving, but we were asked to hire overnight caregivers because she would get up night, which was an additional cost for us. The people were great, the care was great, and it was a very small community . The activities were good and as a family member I was able to visit everyday whenever I wanted to. The communication was easy. I was able to access the director whenever I needed to.

I have no complaints about the care that my wife has been receiving since she made the move into this community. The staff are all very friendly and always attentive to her needs at the best of there ability. I love that they have a in house doctor and a great nursing crew so I don't have to take her off campus to appointments. Overall it has been a pleasant experience and I would recommend it to anyone.

My mother has been recently transferred into the memory care unit at this community and so far I have been pleased with the care she has been receiving. The staff are very encouraging on helping her improve her nutrition and make sure to spend as much one on one time with her as they can. I also notice that every time I go to visit the facility is very cleaned and well maintained.

I did tour this community. This was a reasonable option in value. The staff were nice and friendly and answered are questions. We were not able to see the food. We did see the activity room and it appeared to be alot of activities for everyone who is willing. I recommend this community for families to check out all that is offered.

This community is our second choice. We may be moving my mom here once her dementia progresses as they offer a high level of care. The community is bigger and brighter than the one she is at now. They offer a wide variety of activities.

My mom needed memory care so many things the Alma Via community offers were not interesting or appropriate for her. That said, the staff in the memory care unit was lovely and very helpful. My mother survived just a very short time after moving in but we felt she got tremendous attention and an outpouring of support for her and all our family. It is impossible to judge financial value. We got services that my mother really needed and we paid quite a bit for them but not more than the going rate for similar services in San Francisco. The staff at Alma Via really do seem to live their values about the dignity of each resident and were wonderful to work with.

Unfortunately, while my Father-In-Law was at this facility it was around the time of the fires and because of that a lot of people moved in at once. My loved one is blind and he required a lot more attention than most residents and he felt like he wasn’t getting as much attention as he should. He was just upset about the care and felt like it wasn’t as they advertised. I understand though because there were a lot of new residents and they were shorthanded so it would take longer for them to get to my Father-In-Law. However, I really liked that facility. The community was beautiful and the staff was very nice. The only thing I was unhappy about is when he was sick for three days and the staff waited until it got really bad to bring him to the hospital. I would recommend this facility to other families.
