Moraga Retreat Care Home

My wife spent the last couple of days of her life at Moraga Retreat Care. I will always regret that I did not make the move much sooner. Toward the end of our 20 year battle with Parkinson’s, I began to realize that I could not provide the level of care that was necessary. Having met the owner of Moraga Retreat five months earlier, I was Impressed by her in depth knowledge of Parkinson’s and the quality of care provided by her staff to the residents of her facility. My reluctance to entrust anyone else with the care of my wife after 61 years of marriage kept me from making the move right then. In retrospect, I should have. Having visited at least 16 different care facilities including both large and small, Moraga Retreat is as professionally managed as the large but has a stable staffing situation and provides an extraordinary level of care. The staff makes one feel welcome like family.

Following a stroke my mother lived for nearly 3 years at Moraga Retreat. This warm cheerful home was the perfect answer to all of our needs and worries during the stressful time following my mom’s stroke. Ana and her wonderful team of caregivers (the same team for all 3 years!) are just amazing and everything we could have wished for. The immaculately maintained home (mom had her own room and bath) and the varied home cooked meals were apparent on every visit. Each time we popped in for a visit mom was showered, dressed and well cared for. Everything including nail care, haircuts, dental cleaning and PT was done in house and easily arranged. Ana was always prompt and accurate in answering questions and concerns. A friend had recommended Moraga Retreat to us and we were so grateful to find it was just what we needed. My. priority was safety and moraga retreat delivers, which is why we chose it.The caregivers are professional and really care.The house is well maintained. accessibility is excellent I use a wheelchair without limitations. The food is healthy and they yhey accommodate dietary requirements. The owners are accessible and responsive. need I say more?
