Due to this, he started self isolating. He would never participate in activities, nor would he eat in the dining room with the other residents. Since moving my father to Terra Vista, he has really adjusted well. Now, he is doing all activities, as well as eating in the dining room. My father has never liked people getting in his personal space. It was a challenge for the staff to help him with toileting and showering. However, they tried many different techniques to get him to come around and now things are going a lot more smoothly.
