Wonderful place to live
My mother-in-law has lived at Simi Hills for six months now and she absolutely loves it. The residence and staff are so friendly and outgoing. She has made lots of new friends and has so much fun doing activities with her new social group. The community itself is beautiful and well maintained. It overlooks Simi Valley and is very quiet and serene. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for their parents or a loved one.

Wonderful place to live
My mother-in-law has lived at Simi Hills for six months now and she absolutely loves it. The residence and staff are so friendly and outgoing. She has made lots of new friends and has so much fun doing activities with her new social group. The community itself is beautiful and well maintained. It overlooks Simi Valley and is very quiet and serene. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for their parents or a loved one.

My Year at Simi Hills. Recommend with reservation
I like most that this community is friendly, accepts pets and I have a lovely patio. I also feel safe here. Could improve on organization, communication with residents, meal variety, and maintenance when things need fixing. And most of all, the provided transportation. This is an inconvenient scheduling and most of us feel quite "stuck" as we're unable to drive. We were offered field trips and everyday transportation but this does not happen. I've been on one cultural excursion in a year (the Getty museum)

Responsive and Attentive
My mother has lived at Holiday Simi Hills for over 2 years. Part of that time was during Covid which made staffing difficult. However, better housekeeping & engage life department heads are now in place. We are extremely happy with these changes.
I find that The Management Team is always attentive and responsive to any issue that arises. The team genuinely cares about all residents and reaches out to me personally if there are any challenges.
With the holidays right around the corner I know that my mom and her best friends will be well taken care of this season.

Highly Recommend
My dad has been at Simi Hills for almost a year and he’s very happy there. The staff is wonderful. They couldn’t be nicer and are always so helpful. The facility and the grounds are beautiful, and it’s always nice and clean. There’s a lovely path for walks outside which he loves. They have many fun activities and events. He’s made many friends as the residents are all so nice. He enjoys getting together with everyone in the dining room for meals. Simi Hills is the perfect place for my dad!!

Mom has lived here at Holiday Simi Hills for a full year
When we needed a place for Mom to live, we visited all the places in Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks. Most were booked up or at a higher price. We came across Holiday by Atria, there were rooms available, and the price was right. We moved her in, and she loves it here. Big room, with a balcony overlooking the hills near the Reagan Library. Great meals at 8 am, noon and 5 pm. She usually askes for only half a meal as the portions are large. She has many friends now and would rather stay here for meals then go out. But has used the free bus service to go to the mall and her favorite Chinese restaurant here in Simi Valley. The staff knows everyone's name and the life alert pendant is a great security tool that the facility provides at no additional cost to all. WiFi, cable TV, room cleaning once a week, and laundry rooms throughout the facility are well maintained. I recommend this facility to everyone we meet. They are almost finished with their remodel of the common areas.

If you want quality food look somewhere else
My mom has lived at Holiday Atria for 10 months. The food is ghastly and has gotten progressively worse. Most of the residents have complained with nothing being done to satisfy them. I visit my mom and eat there many days every month. I have had many conversations with [name removed] the regional manager. He told me that he didn’t think I could ever be satisfied with the food. Not a good attitude. The food is the cheapest grade of beef you can buy and there is very little fresh fruit. The fruit they do order is beat up and has no taste. The facility has a huge turnover and can’t keep staffThey are here one day and gone the next. No handyman . One quit and another was injured on the job. Windows are filthy on the outside so you can hardly see out. I asked for them to be cleaned. My mom pays [removed]$ a month. She deserves clean windows. The housekeeping staff has a huge turnover too. My moms apt went 6 weeks without getting cleaned because there was no staff to do it. Look somewhere else

Overall a nice community. Very willing to accommodate. Would recommend.
There is a lot of turnover of staff which we as residents do not understand. And I've only been here 2 months. It is not a favorable circumstance. I do however like it here and find it nice looking.

It's good value for the money. We picked this community because, of the affordability, and I liked the feel of the community, and it seemed like my loved one would fit. The people were nice, welcoming and pleasant. I would recommend to other families. Also, the views from the mountains are beautiful, and they have a nice walking path.

Things Need to be updated
All in all, I am pleased of everything. I was extremely pleased with how everything was handled during covid. I think they need to start updating things in rooms. (i.e. bathrooms, mirrors, countertops. Carpets really need to be replaced throughout the community. It is making the place smell like a convalescent home when you walk in instead of a retirement center. A few times I have walked down the hall and it smelled like poop.

When my parents were forced out of their dream home in the mountains due to their declining health, we were lucky enough to find Holiday.
Sure, there have been ups and downs, but most of those were minor things. Over the years, my parents found the staff helpful and kind. And really, what more could you ask?

I checked out Atria Assisted Living for myself. The customer service is extraordinary. The place is spotless clean. My mom tried the food and was pleased. I could easily see living here. I enjoyed the sitting area and the dining area looked comfortable.

10 Months In Review By The Reeves Fam
Our family moved our Mom to Atria Simi Hills in February of 2022. We are thankful that she is safe and has meals provided and a nice, bright apt with a nice balcony overlooking the trees and entrance to the community.
The Kitchen Staff are especially caring, friendly and good at their job. The other Staff ([name removed], [name removed], and [name removed]) have been helpful as well.
Thr ComfoCare Staff are very understanding ([name removed] and [name removed]).
The only things I would recommend improving are:
1) More music/entertainment during or after dinner. My Mom attended the recent Thanksgiving dinner and told me that the only thing missing was music. Maybe Atria can get a local church or school singing group to entertain thr folks once-in-awhile.
The Choir Director at Atria shouldn't be so strict. Afterall, the seniors have memory issues and it’s not a professional choir. It should just be for everyone’s enjoyment.

Residents Need Good, Healthy Meals!!!
My Step Father, a resident, has one continuing complaint…..the FOOD IS TERRIBLE!!! He has told me that many other residents are unhappy with the food as well. In my opinion eating Is a major activity that people look forward to. But Simi Hills does not seem to care about preparing good, nutritious and healthy meals. This is an ongoing problem. Cold sandwiches do not constitute a good nutritious meal!
My stepfather does not eat lunch or dinner because he just can’t stand the food. He still is expected to Pay over $[amoutn removed[ per month!!! My hope is that the management will read this message and consider it’s residents. The elderly are so often forgotten

My Introduction to retirement living
I realize I may not be able to remain in my current home forever and wanted to investigate other options. I was invited to visit the home, where I was treated to a very nice lunch and then taken on a tour of the facility. Everyone was open and friendly and I received clear answers to my questions. However, I am not yet ready to give up my current living arrangements, but this was valuable information I needed.
