Mom left stranded in the heat on grocery trip
Be careful about sending your loved ones to Maple Brook Terrace Retirement community if you care for their well-being. My mother was left at Publix while other residents boarded the bus early and left before the agreed before 3PM time. My mother went outside right before 3PM. They are supposed to offer door-to-door transportation for seniors with their mini-bus. The driver was [name removed], who is the executive director of the facility. First, you would think she would do a head count to make sure all seniors were accounted for before leaving. My mom, who is 88 and uses a rollator, was told they would send a Uber to get her and wait outside at the curb in 89 degree weather. Whose elderly mom can navigate Uber? She was waiting in the heat for over 40 minutes until being picked up. She waved at every white car. You would think the executive director who in charge of the facility and left her stranded would get in her own car or the bus and drive 5 minutes to the grocery store.

First look at Independent Living
We were able to spend 3 days as guests of Maple Brook Terrace and it was a wonderful experience. Contact with many of the residents gave us comfortable feeling about them. They were outgoing in welcoming us "newbies" that were visiting and thinking about making MBT part of our future. The food was exceptional and the wait staff goes out of their way to cater to the many different needs of the diverse population. Activities were most interesting with this active community and would enable one to fit in quickly. The facility was clean, bright and refreshing.
A decision for our future has not yet been formulated but MBT is one that will rest near the top of our choices. Thank you for the opportunity to step toward a new choice for our future and solidifying that independent living will be that next move in our lives. Cost will always be a deciding factor in our final choice.

A general overall quick look.
We like it here. Maple Brook is a very open place with friendly residents. It has its issues, just like most places. I think that the management is somewhat detached from the residents. And they don't seem to listen to us very much or answer questions. Because keeping staffing levels up is so difficult everywhere right now, they're having to overlap duties, which takes them away from their primary duties. We have an excellent chef though, and a new sous chef. The servers and kitchen staff are all wonderful. The concierge staff is fantastic, with a couple of them that really stand out. I wish there were more outdoor areas and activities, as well as activities geared toward men. They do have an outdoor bocce ball court. But overall the residents are friendly, and the food is good. The one-bedroom apartment is 768 square feet, which is large compared to a lot of places, but it could have a better layout. I like that it has a balcony, and there's a storage unit off the balcony. You can also rent a garage if you'd like to.

The cleaning service is not up to par. I was there recently and that seemed to be the only complaint I heard from several of the occupants.
The most important thing they have done in my opinion is create a wonderfully warm and friendly environment. This begins with management and carries throughout the rest of the staff. It manages to feel like home for the residents, despite it being a fairly large facility. The staff seems to feel an extension of the "home".

Peace of mind for all
Our story is common with many families needing care for family members. Very quickly we needed to locate appropriate living quarters for my mother. Within two days we identified five suitable and available apartments. Maple Brook Terrace quickly became the easy choice based on their genuine interest in my mother and the amenities provided. Six plus months in its clear we made the right choice. We all have peace of mind and mom often says it’s the best place for her at this season of life. Gorgeous, welcoming facility!
We toured this (at the time) brand new facility last year for an elderly relative and were blown away by all that was offered! Not only was it spotless, the units were spacious - the studio kitchen was full size, incredibly large- they also have in-unit washer and dryers and large, well laid out bathrooms. We joked that we would move in if we were of a “certain age”! It honestly gave me the impression of living on a (very nice) cruise ship, with all of the available activities, food options and socializing we witnessed in the public areas. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Maple Brook Terrace to anyone searching for an independent living facility. It’s also in an extremely convenient location - honestly, zero complaints!

Maple Brook Terrace- Second to None
This community is a wonderful choice for seniors. I am a realtor who has helped many seniors sell their homes and relocate here. They all love it hands down! The food is simply fabulous, the fellowship and camaraderie among the residents is really special. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. The facilities are gorgeous and well maintained. Everyone speaks very highly of this community. It is not a retirement home but rather a new beginning!

What An Incredible Place To Live!
Maple Brook Terrace has everything you need and more. Conveniently located between Greenville and Mauldin, near I-385 and I-85, and close to grocery stores and shopping. The amenities are the best, from Concierge Services, 24/7 Dining, Fitness & Wellness Center and a Movie Theater - just to name a few.

Maplebrook Terrace feels like home!
While I don’t have a family member that lives in Maplebrook, I have worked with people through the nonprofit I worked for that live there. The people really do become like family and the staff provides great resources for their residents to live an amazing life. I have to brag on [name removed] as well - she knows her stuff and really goes out of her way to make residents feel special.

I'm not even old enough to retire, and I kinda want to move here.
If for nothing else but the amazing food. It's all scratch-made cuisine, no frozen cafeteria crap. Maple Brooke hires top shelf staff all around.
Every time I walk in the front door, I see residents hanging out, enjoying each others company. There's a real sense of community here.

A great place to be
I feel that they have made the transition for my in-laws very easy. We didn't anticipate it being easy, so they've done a good job of being supportive and checking on them.
It's a good place to be, they love the food. They offer transportation to appointments and stores, and they allow pets.
Their apartment is spacious with very nice granite countertops, modern appliances, a washer and dryer in unit, and a little porch - it's very nice. Housekeeping is offered by the community as well.
Overall I would recommend Maple Brook Terrace Retirement Community to others.
