Mom is well cared for
There was just some misunderstandings about the requirement to have a local neurologist re-diagnose my mother with dementia despite the fact that she had already been diagnosed in PA. And they kept saying it was Georgia law but it actually isn't. So they were friendly but that caused a lot of headaches along the way. No hard feelings though, my mom is safe and well cared for.

Please keep in mind that we moved out in 2023. They have a new chef now so food may have improved.
We were lucky to get our apt cleaned 1-2 times a month due to lack of housekeepers. They paid them a very low wage. I don't know if they have more housekeepers now.

Kind and comfortable
It has outdoor space and nice large parking lot. They are very welcoming. Relatives can visit and feel comfortable. I would also add that it is assisted living and therefore residents have a certain amount of privacy, which is great for many (capable) people who wish to have a social life and independence. However, if your family member needs 24 hour care and medication, this may not be the right place for them. It is a nice place relative to how much nursing homes cost generally.

Nice people/clean community
I toured there a couple of weeks ago with a lovely girl named [name removed].
She showed me various options on the Independent Living side. She was very patient with me as I asked alot of questions. We saw 2 one bedrooms and 1 two bedroom. It is a beautiful community and everything looks and so fresh and new. I didn't have lunch but it smelled amazing. Staff all looked happy and kind. Unfortunately out of my price range at this time.

The whole team has been great, from Sales to Nursing. Food is good. Our apartment gets cleaned once a week and the management is so caring. Highly recommend!

Housekeeping, Food Services are two areas where promises made on signing up but are not kept. Communication with residents from management is poor. I feel confident that these are the best independent living apartments in Savannah with most importantly washer/dryers in the apartments. My only caveat to this is that they need to work on housekeeping, cleanliness and food service.

They need to pay staff more to retain them. They are constantly changing. Some times the maid doesn't show up, or a meal ordered for delivery doesn't show up. Always due to being short staffed.

I moved my mother in about a year ago. She is thriving and is so happy. The staff in memory care are kind and compassionate. She complains about the food sometimes, but she has gained 20 much needed pounds so it can't be that bad! Management is amazing, the Exec Director there is so understanding and always available to listen. Would highly recommend.

Great Community
I recently moved my aunt into the independent living apartments. She is absolutely loving it and thriving.
She has made some friends and the staff is always so nice. She loves that they know her name in the dining room and that the front desk is always so helpful. She has lived here 6 months and I know she made the right move. The Executive Director is always available to answer my questions or give me direction. When we first moved in she was always in the kitchen and serving in the dining room. My brother loved that the manager staff was so hands on. MOVE ON IN, you won't be disappointed.

Harmony at Savannah review
What attracted us at first to Harmony was that it was new construction, everything is shiny and modern and spacious. But, that's a bit like judging a book by its cover. What's inside the rooms, what's happening inside, how people are treated is the only true test. In that test, they truly failed my mother. She was suffering. And when I sent emails to address issues, the emails were repeatedly ignored and I had to chase people to get them to respond, which often seemed like weeks. Never again. Next time I place my mom, I will ask to interview people in advance. In her new home, it's not as shiny and modern but it's a true home, feels like home where people serve from their hearts, are kind and gentle. And the food is really good with multiple options.

The Cost Overpriced and Expectations are Underdelivered
I wouldn't recommend anyone go to Harmony at Savannah. After paying attention to the details of the care my loved one this made an impression on me, and it didn't meet expectations. There have been times that I have had to clean the room to make sure it doesn't smell. There is a commode and there are times that the staff don't clean it, or don't rinse and wash the commode out.
There was a time that the staff left the shower water running from the handle. There was a time, that I smelled marijuana on a staff member. Most of the staff are nice to work with. There is a nurse and an aide that have a condescending remarks and attitude towards the family. The plug in air fresheners are used in the community, and this is a fire hazard and toxic to the residents and visitors.
I finally got a call back after leaving several messages about the questions I had over the bills. The front desk staff are very nice. There is a delivery fee if the staff have to deliver the meals to the resident's rooms.

Definitely Consider Harmony
I'm very pleased with our experience with Harmony at Savannah. Any issues that have come up have been worked on and the community is willing to work with us on any of our questions.
I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones.
The meals are served sometimes cold to moderately warm. It would be nice to have the food arrive hotter for the residents.

I toured this place and it was nice. It was a much larger and busier facility compared to some of the others that we toured. The cleanliness wasn't as detailed and the food wasn't as good. The residents were friendly.

Everything As It Should Be
Most of the services they offer are fine, any shortage they had with services was because my loved one declined quickly after arriving. The caregivers were great in keeping the family updated, and caring for my loved one to the best of their ability.
They had concerts during the holiday, piano, bingo and more for the residents to participate in for activities. They have transportation and outings for the residents as well.

A Place Like Home
It has been a good overall experience. It feels just like home. The maintenance staff is extremely accommodating. The dining room staff will accommodate your dietary needs - If there's anything special that you need or simply something that you want. My loved one had a fall when she first moved in, and when she pulled the emergency cord, the nurse came running to assist her, even though she's only in independent living. So in case of emergency, they are there. Her apartment is fantastic. It's roomy, and she has a balcony space where she can keep her plants.
