Do not take your love ones here
We almost lost our dad here at Garnett Hill. They covered him the fact that his catheter was clogged and refused to send him out to the hospital. Thank God dad has a urologist who agreed to see him that morning. By the time the EMT arrived with great concern in His voice the paramedic informed me if they transported dad to the urologist office he probably wouldn’t make it. The nurse told me and the EMT my dad was fine. Thank God this medic went with his gut’s feelings. When he rechecked my dad’s vital it was 93/32. He was admitted into the hospital with sepsis, kidney failure and pneumonia. The nurses withheld information concerning my dad that almost cost him his life. He had a roommate who was in better shape than my dad he ended up dying from a misdiagnosis of the flu. This place is horrible. Each time I pass by it I’m praying for the people who are there. Please save yourself heartaches abuse and mistreatment. Seek else where. Blessings

Great rehab and nursing facility
Finding a good skilled nursing facility can be very difficult. My mom went to Garnet Hill for rehab from a hip injury during the middle of Covid-19 and just before Christmas. While they didn't have a private room they did place mom with a really nice lady. I was immediately impressed with the quality of the administration. They addressed any question, issue or need quickly and professionally. They really seems to enjoy working with Seniors. Everyone there went the extra mile to make the holidays special. Kudos to the activity director. Most importantly, my mom got excellent rehab care. If she ever needs rehab or to be in a skilled nursing facility, I would not hesitate to make Garnet Hill her new home.

They are good to mom
I guess everyone has different experiences, but ours have been as positive as it can be considering the circumstances of our precious mom. We have a camera in her room and check all the time, we can see how she is being treated, they are so sweet and kind to her. They clean her everyday, brush her hair, clean her glasses and sit and talk to her. We get to FaceTime her several times a week. She doesn’t understand why we can’t see her during the COVID-19, and she gets sad, and this makes us sad, but being able to see her on camera anytime reassures us she is being treated well. Anytime we have questions, administration replies quickly.

Awful, just awful
My elderly cousin stayed at Garnet Hill in October of 2019. Her stay was awful, from beginning to end. The facility is horribly understaffed, and many of the workers there JUST DON'T CARE. We experienced long waits for pain meds. A worker yelled at my cousin to get up out of bed. They left her in urine for an entire night. They did zero wound care after surgery. They did not remove staples from her wound as they said they would. We experienced great difficulty with getting her transferred out of the facility. We had to go so far as to have an outside entity come and provide 24 hour care, and had to have a meeting with ALL of the administration over the lack of care we were receiving.

Horrible Garnet Hill
The caretakers are mean. The bathrooms for residents smelled and had bags of diapers left in them constantly. They left my mom in her urine several times. My mom had hip surgery. They took her from morphine to regular Tylenol. I had to go get a nurse from mom's assisted living to get anything changed. This place is horrible.

My mother was there they do have some caring staff but they are far and few between the Rehabilitation staff was great they are employed by Rehab Pro I am not one to complain or write a review when I am not happy but this was not a good experience we never left Mom alone overnight and we stayed most days as we did not have confidence that she would be taken care of in our absence we had numerous concerns that were brought to nursing supervisors and the administrator with no real results I sent pictures of the aids asleep to the administrator I came in one evening and over half of the call lights on Moms hall were on with people crying for help I quickly went to the first nurse that I could find and said what is going on she casually said it is shift Change I am sorry but a need or emergency can't be scheduled around shift change there we times that people would be crying out people that I did not know and I would go insist that they be helped I will sum it up by saying if you are looking for a place for your loved one I would suggest you keep looking

Not GOOD!
I put my Mother in this place after leg surgery. The first night they did not bring her any pain meds. and when she asked for them the night nurse said the Dr didn't order them. When she told them she was supposed to get them at such and such time (she had discussed this with the Dr) they said "I'll check" and walked out and never came back. She laid there in after surgery pain for four hours and finally called again for the nurse. They brought her one pill. She asked for two and they argued again. Again they said "I'll go check" and they didn't come back for over and hour. By this time she was in terrible pain and was behind schedule on her pain meds. My Mother is very sharp mentally. She knew when she should get her meds and how much. The night nurses not only treated her like she was stupid, they were very inconsiderate of her need for rest. They came in at night to deliver pills to her neighbor and turned on all the lights...left the door open with all the hallway racket and changed the trash at 2 am! She has stomach issues and asked for a bland diet every day! She got not one bland meal but had to pick around and send back the over peppered food. My Mother was so distressed and tired her therapist noticed and questioned her. I am appalled that this place calls itself a care center because they obviously DO NOT CARE. My only positive experience was with the therapist, [Removed], she took very good care of my Mother and treated her with dignity and respect. We got her out as fast as possible and she is now thriving with proper rest, considerate workers, food she can eat and pain meds when she needs it

about Garnet Hill Rehabilitation And Skilled Care

A Place for Mom has scored Garnet Hill Rehabilitation And Skilled Care 1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
