A mature senior independent community
Briarcrest Estates is a mature, senior independent community. When I moved in a month ago I was greeted as a member of the community. I met and knew almost everybody in my residence wing within three days. I joined the bridge club and hope to soon learn enough to start playing. On likr e resident ate with me that first week and gave a terrific orientation to activities and the neighborhood surrounding Briarcrest Estates. After a conversation with one of the dining room employees she gave me a book on New York City when she learned I had lived there. The meals are locally prepared and to me are very tasty. Little containers of fruits and jellos are available fre all day. The same is true for fresh fruit like bananas and green apples. Not only do you not pay for utilities you also get free cable television that includes The Classic Movie channel, many sports channels including MLB Network. Checked a lot of boxes in my search for a retirement community. Good location, great set of activities, and a varied meal menu. Rooms were a little tight on space.

Blooming Where You Plant Yourself
Your senior living choice can be what you make it. Limited by budget and my own physical limits I found Briarcrest suited my needs. I was not accepted by some assisted living places in my area because I was in a wheelchair and needed more help than they could allot me. Briarcrest had some signup bonuses that assisted me. They are remodeling units for new arrivals and there is the promise of a needed update of the common areas beginning soon. The food is good. All meals and snacks are available and a part of provided room and activities. Staff and residents are friendly and welcoming. This is independent living and I have to pay for needed help but my budget allows it after paying the reasonable rate at Briarcrest.

I had written a review earlier today and neglected to state my personal fault of this facility. This is a personal thing, I realize, but there are no security cameras in or out of this facility. Also the doors are locked in the evening over night, but access is open all day. Presently I reside in a locked facility with key access by residents 24/7. Also, there are cameras inside and out which have a history of prevention of misfortune. This is a personal thing that I did share with [name removed], who is really great.

Great Experience
My Dad move in and we have had nothing but a good experience. The tour was great with no high pressure. The building is in need of updates but it was clean. I understand they will be updating this year. We felt it was more like them trying to help my Dad rather than trying to sell us something. I would highly recommend taking a look.

HORRIBLE PLACE, FOOD IS BAD, NOT ENOUGH TO EAT
My friends live here, unfortunately. It looks and smells like a nursing home.
They only get small portions of food, no 2nds. My friend has lost weight.
They were there 5 weeks, no one had come to clean.
3 moving vans were there to move people out.
She is very depressed and lonely.
I am calling the agency that licenses this place and making a formal complaint against them.

Lovely homey feel
I toured this community for my mom and immediately felt welcomed and at home. They are doing a beautiful remodel on the apartments and it was the perfect fit. Unfortunately, my mom‘s health has taken a turn and we weren’t able to move her in there. I highly recommend checking Briarcrest out. Lunch was delicious and the price for a brand new apartment was the best we’ve found!
