Pros and cons
The change in company reduced apartment cleaning from 1x weekly to 2x month. And they increased her rent!! So she pays more for less services.
Mostly she is satisfied Consistent staff turnover but long term staff are very dedicated. So getting repairs completed in timely manner is an issue at times.

Great Place
We helped our 93-year-old aunt move to Independence Village. She now has the opportunity to meet new people, walk to and from the dining room, participate in exercise classes, and enjoy the special events. The food is wonderful.

Very Nice!
Mom likes the all inclusive price. Everything is included 3meals in the dining room, cable etc. there is service 3 days a week to and from places within 12 miles to go shopping or doctor appointments. Her apartment is spacious with a balcony and kitchenette. Lots of closets.
She has made friends and enjoys the games.

A Great Fit

Would definitely recommend for loved ones
The place is amazing. Everyone is friendly, finances are flexible they really work with you. They go out of their way to make sure everyone has what they need and really help those with dementia get around.

My loved one is currently a resident at Holiday Inn at Cass Lake and everything has been very good for her, so far. The staff is very helpful. The other residents are friendly and reach out to newcomers. The meal choices appeal to a range of preferences. I would recommend this facility to others.

I love it here. I live on the first floor and when other residents come by and I invite them to my patio and ask them to sit with me on my rocking chair to conversate. Everywhere I go I tell people about the community. I even pass out the telephone number so they can call.

Such a great place!
I visited eight different places, and the I@CL is the only one I wanted to show my MIL. It’s bright and vibrant. There are so many activities, the staff is so friendly and helpful. The food is delicious (I’ve enjoyed it a few times) and there are so many choices! Six months later, she tells me every time, how much she loves her apartment, the people, the food - and how happy she is to be there! Add it to your list - you’ll see how much better it is.

It was very difficult deciding mom needed to move to a senior facility. It was even more difficult getting mom to agree. The staff at the Inn at Cass Lake were extremely helpful providing suggestions and support during this process. [name removed] has been a constant means of support. She is always cheerful and ready to help with whatever is needed. She is professional, knowledgeable, helpful and lighthearted. She understands the struggles we have with mom's dementia and is always willing to extend words of encouragement and great hugs!
Mom is comfortable at the Inn and my sisters and I are also. It is like having an extended family.

Inn at Cass Lake
I have had a personal experience with the staff at Cass Lake especially the Customer Service/Sales manager. She gave me her cell number for any questions that I needed an answer or any help. I was very pleased with the above and beyond that she provided. When you have a loved on in independent care, it's nice to know the staff is there for any need and assistance. Thank you Cass Lake staff.

Would Recommend
My biggest disappointment is that they promote that they provide transportation, but only Monday-Thursday from 9 am -12 pm. And that's only if they have a driver available. But overall, they've been wonderful and easy to work with. The food is really good - my mom can't stop talking about how great the food is. They are part of a group of Holiday communities that just got selected for renovations. They'll be redoing public spaces, carpeting, paint, furniture, all this winter. And it is a much needed update. Things were always clean but looked a little old. We assume there might be a rent increase afterward. But we're happy about the updates. Like all places currently, they're experiencing a staff shortage, but they're dong the best they can. Right now they have two housekeepers for 70 units, so we've had to supplement a little bit. My mom is really getting involved in the activities. They have exercises every day, so she's more active than before she moved in. And we've already seen an improvement in her spirits. She has already made some friends and is getting more involved, which our family is very pleased about. We like that it's a place where as she needs more help eventually, they will bring it to her and she won't have to move to a different part of the facility. They wrap those services around her in place, right where she is. Obviously there's more cost involved with that, but we knew that going in. So we are optimistic about her continued care in the community.
