Aspen Ridge Review
Problem was the beginning of no house keeping, food was getting lesser and later. Salad bar was going away and not enough in it. Meals delayed, no activity assistance. But they had a lot of activities. They're bus works only take you to East side Dr appts and had to be on their time. Reconstruction made things difficult and understandable.. but staffing was quitting by the droves and were unhappy.. the place was bigger and more open and airy. Grounds were starting to look very shabby.

My loved ones aren't happy there. But I didn't think they would be, they want to be in their house. But they don't have to (have us) shop or fix food. It's not real friendly, but that's more the treats l residents. It's cost to medical appts, yet they're so far not willing to use the van. They haven't involved thanks in any social activities. It's independent living, so NO CARE. Staff friendly yet at times food service is a bit overwhelmed. My loved one complains of the food, yet they complained at their homes even if we brought it. Facility seems nice and basically clean, no attempts of staff to involve my folks in activities. I am trying to get them into assisted, but it's SOOO MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE, YOU HAVE TO BE RICH! Again getting them involved or checking on them would be helpful. They don't reach out as they see the move as depressing. It's almost as though I should have kept them in their home, as besides for food, I'm doing everything including their entertainment/ socialization. They need to try to get residents involved in activities, show them the van so they aren't afraid of using it. Shoes them around more, not all exciting them to come out of their shell. Elderly need TLC, encouragement, suggestions with seeing up dates to see if involve in activities and hand holding or they retreat into themselves.

Our family had an in person tour with Aspen Ridge Retirement Residence and overall from everything we saw on the tour we thought the experience was good, but at the end of the day would not be the best fit for our loved one.

Exceeded Our Expectations for Our Situation
Some of the programs for activities that we were told about haven't come back due to the pandemic. I highly recommend you go visit. We've had a good experience with our loved one being here.

Aspen Ridge is a Good Place Except for the Food
We are currently only able to play cards with other residents. The dining room is still closed and we are eating in our rooms.
The food is terrible, you don't get half the items you order. You also get things you didn't order. Other than that I would say it is good community.
The staff are really good and keeping us safe.
They allow pets; however, there is an additional fee of $1,000.

A good community
They need to improve their level of communication with both their clients and the clients guardians. Initial impression would be a five out a five, the rooms are great, they would also be a five out of five. We were able eat with our loved one before COVID and the food was great, there was a lot of choices and variety. Hwoever, during COVID they had to eat in their rooms so the quality and variety has dropped tremendously.

My loved one is deeply cherished by the staff at ARMC. The care staff are attentive, thoughtful, kind and hard working. Aspen Ridge is lovely
I toured Aspen Ridge and really loved it. It was my first choice personally, but my parents chose otherwise. I really appreciated the fact that they have “step-up” care levels right there, which would be great so that my parent s wouldn’t have to move more as their needs increase.

Older facility in need of an upgrade
I toured here when looking for a community for my parents. I really liked the marketing person, she was very helpful, but the facility was a little older and needed to be updated. I thought maybe there was a little bit of confusion in getting around the place because of multiple elevators. But it has some beautiful grounds that I think are very nice. They don’t offer memory care under the same roof, but it is across the road. So if one of my parents had to move, they would have to move across the street and that wasn’t ideal.

Very good choice!
We are really pleased with my mom's move into Aspen Ridge Retirement Residence.
The food is very good, she likes the selections that they offer. Chef Mike comes out of the kitchen to talk with the residents and to get their input on the menus. He tries to provide foods that compliment all dietary needs, desserts for diabetics is a real plus!
There are plenty of activities for the residents to participate in. They have a beautiful lobby with comfortable couches and a piano in it that frequently has someone playing it for the residents. My mom's room has a balcony with a view of a beautiful courtyard where they also hold events. They allow pets here and have a place to walk their dogs. Although my mom does not have her own pet she loves meeting and interacting with the pets and their owners. We highly recommend Aspen Ridge Retirement Residence.

Did Not have adequately trained personnel on duty!
Placed as advised, by Aspen Ridge personnel. Level 3, Assisted Living.
!. She has dementia. Had "her" normal behavior pattern. Able to function when multiply people around her. When in her room, she was totally non-functional; verbally abusive, not orientated to place and time. Repeated phone calls to her home number, from front desk !
2. Didn't get meds. as prescribed. Apparently, no one on her floor was authorized to give meds. Person attending her, either wasn't told /didn't ask about meds. Called me, in the Willamette Valley. to come and stay with her to try and calm her! Resulted in a hospital stay!
3. When released from hospital, finally took her Doctor's and Family's advise - admitted to Memory Care !
